Each visitor is encouraged to explore the Website before using the Tutorials. However, this brief tutorial has the purpose of providing you with an overview of these three issues:

1. Motivation for the Website
The availability of certain actuarial and risk-related services, on a work-product basis (i.e., fixed fee and no billable charges) to the health care plan practitioner is needed. This is because it (a) strengthens control, (b) expands the range of services, (c) provides marketing advantages, (d) improves the quality of services and (e) reduces the costs to the ultimate consumers (plan sponsors and beneficiaries). Each work-product utilizes the very latest in information technology. The Eligible User is a natural partner in making available actuarial and risk services because of its closeness to (a) plan data, (b) benefit and administrative design and (c) unique needs of the multiple parties to the plan.
Our primary motivation comes from the obligation, mandated by our state and federal trade and commerce laws (and relevant clarifying Supreme Court decisions) for both business and the professions to offer the better and cheaper mousetrap in a fair way.
